VOCAL TECHNIQUE FOR ALL GENRES OF MUSIC

 A Voice Intensive

Students learn vocal technique to sing any genre of music including, Pop, Rap, Hip Hop, Broadway, Disney, Bollywood, etc. In this one day intensive, students start out with relaxation exercises, and vocal warm ups. They then learn a song, and work with movement. Finally, students memorize part of the song and perform it at the end of the intensive. Students ages 7 and up are invited to enroll for this intensive. CLAV also offers such intensives for teens, young adults, and adults who want to work on their vocal technique and improve the way they sing. This is a five-hour intensive, and hence students are encouraged to bring plenty of water, snacks and food. Additionally, students should wear comfortable clothing, and shoes. They must bring a notebook, pencil and eraser.

 

BUILD CONFIDENCE & BE THE CHARACTER

 A Drama Intensive

This is not just an acting intensive, but a confidence building intensive as well.  Students work on their acting skills through various exercises, and monologues. Students must have a monologue that is memorized and ready to be coached by the instructor. Monologues must be under 1 minute. Students will get to perform the monologue at the end of the intensive. Students ages 7 and up are invited to enroll for this intensive. CLAV also does such intensives for teens, young adults and adults who want to work on the vocal technique and improve the way they act, speak, and move on stage. This is a five-hour intensive, and hence students are encouraged to bring plenty of water, snacks and food. Additionally, students should wear comfortable clothing, and shoes. They must bring a notebook, pencil and eraser.

 

PROJECT YOUR VOICE & SPEAK WITH FINESSE

 A Public Speaking Intensive

Speak with the correct usage of breath, vowels, etc., to project your voice, and be heard by the last person in the room. Technique which will not only help you speak clearly, but speak with finesse, and confidence. Learn to speak extemporaneously. Want to reduce your accent to be better understood? This is a great Intensive for you.  Students must bring in a speech on any topic, or poem which is memorized, and under 1 minute.  Students will get to perform the speech or poem at the end of the intensive. CLAV offers this intensive for kids, teens, young adults, adults, and anyone who wants to improve the way they speak, in front of an audience. This is a five-hour intensive, and hence students are encouraged to bring plenty of water, snacks and food. Additionally, students should wear comfortable clothing, and shoes. They must bring a notebook, pencil and eraser.

 

SING-ACT-MOVE WITH CONFIDENCE

 A Musical Theatre Intensive

Students learn vocal technique to sing Broadway & Disney music. In this one day intensive, students start out with relaxation exercises, and vocal warm ups. Students build confidence, have a clearer sense of the character in the song, sing with better diction, and learn to connect with the audience. They learn a Broadway or Disney song, and work with movement. Finally, students memorize part of the song and perform it at the end of the intensive. Alternatively, students may bring in a song in the Broadway / Disney genre which they can have coached. However, they must be able to sing the song from memory. Students ages 7 and up are invited to enroll for this intensive. CLAV also offers this intensive to teens, young adults, and adults. This is a five-hour intensive, and hence students are encouraged to bring plenty of water, snacks and food. Additionally, students should wear comfortable clothing, and shoes. They must bring a notebook, pencil and eraser.

Deirdre has been teaching voice since 1988 and teaches students vocal technique enabling them to sing the following genres of vocal music with ease and efficiency: Pop, Jazz, Rap, Broadway, Western Classical, Indian Classical – Hindustani / Carnatic.
