Sing Like the Pros

 

CLAV Classes go for 12 weeks at 1 hours per week. Students work on technique, repertoire, and musicianship subjects: music theory, sight reading, music history, and ear training in preparation for the examinations held twice a year depending on the level they are appearing for. Students also sign up for 2 one-on-one online coaching for their practical area of study in the quarter in preparation for the examinations.  All Examinations are in levels. Students must pass one level before they go to the next. Students receive a progress CLAV report card and certificate of completion at each level, and do in-class performances, or a showcase recital at the end of each quarter, depending on if it is a performance or non-performance quarter.

Prerequisite: Students must complete each CLAV level to be promoted to the next level by the instructor.

DRAMA & SPEECH ARTS

Act & Speak with Power & Clarity!

We all need a voice where we are able to speak with power, clarity & confidence which are the best tools we can have for success in the world today! Drama & Speech Arts helps in developing communication skills, creativity & artistic expression. Our training helps provide the student enrichment in the arts and skills that they are able to use in everyday life speaking clearly & with purpose. We teach students through this program speaking via interpretation, performance of literature and drama, public speaking & improvisational skills. Students study: verse speaking, prose, Shakespeare scenes & duologues. Students also train in mime scenes, public speaking, brief talk and conversations, storytelling, improvisation, etc. as part of the examination requirements. MUSICAL THEATRE

The Musical Theatre program, provides students with a platform to prepare for auditions, performances on stage, and helps build skills needed to mold the student holistically. Singing for Musical Theatre ABRSM and the London College of Music (LCM) exams allow students to perform the songs they love singing, supported by musical skills that flourish in rehearsal, audition and performance situations. Musical theatre is a vibrant and energetic contemporary art form, popular with increasing numbers of performers, young and old. Students are tested on repertoire, sight-singing, aural tests.
